The Challenge

Family Pride Plumbing had a minimal online presence, an under-optimized website, and a Google My Business (GMB) profile that wasn’t reaching its full potential. Their primary challenges were:

  1. The website they built was not user-friendly and didn’t have any contact details for customers to reach out to them. Additionally, the business listing on Google lacked a proper phone number, which proved to be a significant challenge.

The Solution

We had to do an initial audit to figure out what improvements needs to be done. To do an audit we used “SE Ranking”, then, we did a competitor research and also run audit for the competitors and compared the clients report with the client report to understand the loopholes and scope of improvement. 

After measuring 17 factors of the audit, and keeping in mind the client’s challenges, we were convinced that our “Local Business Growth Solution” would best suit the client needs as it completely aligned with the challenges and objective.

Phase 1: Website Improvements

Upon checking Google Analytics, we saw that the client was getting regular traffic to the website, although the quality of traffic wasn’t that great, but it was good enough to bring sales for the client if it was optimised properly. We ran it through Hotjar (Heatmap Tool), to understand customer interaction and what users do when they visit the website.

After running the heatmap , we figured out the errors and focused on fixing some key areas of the website. We added important contact details so that customers could easily reach out to the business. Design and layout changes were made in accordance to users and viewers, for a better experience.

Phase 2: Keyword Research and GMB Optimisation

First, we had considered running some paid ads to bring in qualified leads quickly. Then, with consideration of the limited budget on the client’s side, we changed our strategy. 

We completely shifted our focus on Local SEO and thus, did a Keyword research, to get more visibility in their local area. We wanted to drive more relevant search traffic, and generate qualified leads for them. So we optimised the Google My Business Profile (Google Map listing), by adding/optimising the  following things:

  1. Updated the Primary Category
  2. Added few secondary category relevant to the clients business
  3. Added phone number
  4. Linked it to the website
  5. Updated business hours
  6. Added a proper business description with proper Call To Action
  7. Optimised the services tab

After optimising it for relevant keywords, we then continued with link building by doing citations and backlinks from high authority sites, by doing so, the number of qualified calls that the client received were increased, without compromising on their budget.
